The Herring Houses of Dothan for Women and Step by Step Recovery for Men has established itself as the premier long-term substance use disorder residential treatment facility in South Alabama. We provide a safe, supportive, drug-free environment for recovery. Our residential rules and guidelines provide a sense of structure and community, along with a flexible amount of personal freedom.
Our Mission
Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone can get better. We passionately believe that those affected by substance use disorders will benefit from treatment and we are committed to helping them recover. Our programs are grounded in the principles of the 12- steps, evidence-based practice, medicated assisted treatment, and trauma informed care. We draw from these treatment models to provide the best and most effective care for our clients, along with developing plans for aftercare to prevent the return to substance use.
Goals
Our goal through treatment at the Herring Houses of Dothan is to be helpful in guiding clients to obtain a lifestyle of independence, recovery, spirituality, responsibility, and productive living for the future. Our program is designed to provide structure for our clients to assist in developing healthy habits for long term recovery.
